(Season 2, 3 and 4 are up!)
(Also want to acknowledge R44 and his "ERS" series as well as Mortis and his "HRS" series, both of those people took inspiration from me and if you like this then you should go check their series out!)

Overview:
This is a project that I'm working on, where I'm making my own history of a racing league. There will be no real drivers, teams, venues, brands or car manufacturers, as they will all be made up for purposes of providing my own story. Over time ill evolve the league to have different teams, venues, drivers, legends, stories and what-not. I will be detailing every race, as well as major events etc and provide storytelling and worldbuilding

Background, Origins and Pre-Season of the Sport:

(In this alternate universe, F1 doesn't exist)
The Global Racing Championship (GRC) was founded by English entrepreneur and billionaire Michael Harrington on the 9th of January, 2023, who wanted to found a professional motorsport league using open-wheel single-seater racing cars, as currently only amateur leagues existed for this type of racing. He would start by appointing an executive board, as well as approaching amateur teams, tech companies and auto-mobile manufacturers, pitching his vison and offering payment towards teams that would join his championship. Whilst he failed to attract any major car manufacturers, he would gain the attention of 4 amateur teams, as well as tech giant Evosync, who would form "EvoSync Racing", the 5th team. This signing would provide huge for Harrington and the GRC, as it would provide a major business partner and funder and bring a lot of attention and advertisement to the sport.
Whilst the 4 amateur teams, Velocity Racing, AeroPulse, Prototype Racing and Imperial Autosport would elevate local amateur racers from their teams, EvoSync Racing would hire famous Australian driver Daniel Metcalfe and German young prospect Lukas Meyer, bringing more attention to the sport.
Harrington would then go on to choose 10 venues for races to be held at. Due to the competition only being in its first season, Harrington would opt to choose 9 venues in his and the leagues home country of the United Kingdom, with an international race planned in Paris, France for the 8th race of the season. The dates for the season would then be selected, with the 10 races being held over 20 weeks with race 1 in London starting on the 11th of July 2023 and ending at Silverstone on the 28th of November 2023. This gives teams 5ish months to develop their cars and prepare for the year.
Over this time period, Harrison, the board and the teams would decide on rules, regulations, weekend structure and point systems. It would be decided that each race weekend would consist of a 3 practice sessions, a 2 session qualifying where p1-p5 from Q1 go onto Q2 and a point system where the winner of a race will now get 25 points, whilst second will get 18 points, third will get 15 and positions 4-10 getting 12, 10, 8, 6, 4, 2 and 1 respectively (the real life F1 system).

Pre-Season Testing
1 month before race 1, a testing session was held at London, the first race. Teams would have 2 hours to do as many laps as they liked, testing their cars and drivers. The fastest laps of each driver where recorded, the ranking as follows:
1 - Daniel Metcalfe (EvoSync Racing)
2 - Lukas Meyer (EvoSync Racing)
3 - Evan Bradley (AeroPulse)
4 - Logan Jackson (Imperial Autosport)
5 - Ashton Colt (Imperial Autosport)
6 - Josiah West (Velocity Racing)
7 - Hugh Pierson (AeroPulse)
8 - Ederson Ross (Prototype Racing)
9 - Tobias Wright (Velocity Racing)
10 - Harry Ross (Prototype Racing)

Race 1: London
Winner: D. Metcalfe
Pole: D. Metcalfe
Fastest Lap: D. Metcalfe

The inaugural race of the first ever GRC season started with a dominant qualifying session for Daniel Metcalfe and his team, with a EvoSync front row lockout on the grid. This dominant performance set the theme for season to come, with the rich global giant of a team appearing to absolutely dominate the poorer and more local teams and amateur drivers, which would ultimately cause some controversy into how this dominance should be handled to prevent the sport from becoming boring, especially in its opening season.
Come race day and this dominance would continue, with experienced veteran Daniel Metcalfe leading every single lap of the race as well as securing the fastest lap, a Grand Chelem in the first ever race of the sport. His teammate would come home in 2nd place, with Ashton Colt from Imperial Autosport rounding off the first ever podium after a intense race where he started in 6th. It would be an unfortunate debut for Tobias Wright and his team at Velocity Racing, with an engine failure on lap 2 forcing him to retire.

Race 2: Manchester
Winner: L. Meyer
Pole: D. Metcalfe
Fastest Lap: E. Bradley

The second race of the GRC season saw the EvoSync dominance continue, with another 1-2 on the starting grid. As race day arrived, it would be another 1-2 finish for EvoSync, however this time it would be Meyer who would take the win after a bold overtake on the final lap of the race. Meanwhile, Protoype's rough start would continue as after scoring 0 points in London they would go on to double DNF this race after the Harry would take out his brother Ederson early in the race fighting for position, sending Ederson into the barrier and causing enough damage to his own car that forced him to retire. Back at the pit wall the brothers would be seen arguing with each, with Ederson berating his younger brother for the incident. This would seem to provide intense controversy and conflict both in the team and around the fans of the GRC, with the relationship of the 2 brothers seeming to be in shambles. Debate around the dominance of EvoSync would also continue, however at this stage it looked as though nothing would be done by Harrington to prevent this dominance.

Race 3: Edinburgh Winner: A. Colt Pole: D. Metcalfe Fastest Lap: L. Meyer

The EvoSync Dominance would go on, with EvoSync going 3/3 for 1-2's in qualifying. During the race, Lukas and Daniel would fight for first well ahead of the rest of the grid, however a late safety car 4 laps out from the end would bring everyone back together for the final few laps after Hugh Pierson would hit the wall and lose his front wing on the track. It would be upon the restart that Imperial Autosport's Ashton Colt would write his name in the history of the GRC with a daring dive-bomb which saw him take the lead, holding out until the end to be the competitions third ever winner and first ever non EvoSync driver to win a race. Meanwhile, Prototypes struggles continue, with the Ross brothers still failing to secure the team their first points.
Race 4: Birmingham
Winner: D. Metcalfe
Pole: L. Meyer
Fastest Lap: D. Metcalfe

Whilst EvoSync would unsurprisingly get another 1-2 on the grid, it would this time be Lukas Meyer on pole, marking the first time his teammate Metcalfe would not take p1 from qualifying. On the day of the race however, Metcalfe would lead a commanding charge into turn 1, taking the lead. Further down the field, Ederson Ross would find his way into p4, giving the team at Prototype hopes for their first points. It wasnt to be however, as a dramatic tire blow-out 5 laps from the end would see him pick up his second DNF for the season. Meanwhile, after another EvoSync 1-2, Harrington and his board would announce that discussions surrounding the matter are under-way, sparking some hope for teams lower down the grid.

Race 5: Glasgow
Winner: D. Metcalfe
Pole: D. Metcalfe
Fastest Lap: L. Jackson

Daniel Metcalfe's hiatus from pole wouldn't last long, with him comfortably taking p1 in qualifying again. However, a mistake in Q2 from Meyer would see a new face on the front row, with Evan Bradley becoming the first non EvoSync driver on the front row of the grid. Race day in Glasgow beckoned, with intense battles in the midfield and at the back. Coming out of the pits, Ederson Ross would find himself stuck behind his brother and teammate Harry. Believing he was faster, he would angrily radio his engineer demanding their positions to be swapped. Prototype Racing disagreed, further angering Ederson. He would disobey team orders going into turn 4, playing a really aggressive overtake on Harry, which would see the pair make contact and spin into the barrier, causing another double DNF for Prototype. Post-Race, Ederson would once again be seen in a verbal altercation with his younger brother, leading many to wonder about the future of the pair at Prototype.

Race 6: Bristol
Winner: E. Bradley
Pole: E. Bradley
Fastest Lap: L. Jackson

Evan Bradleys domination would continue, with him clinching a pole in his teams home race, becoming the first non EvoSync driver on pole. Meanwhile, Ederson Ross would not be seen in practice or qualifying, with team third driver Charlie Parker seen in his place. Prototype racing would refuse to comment on his absence, however fans and media across the league would make their own conspiracies about his absence, with many believing he quit after multiple incidents with his teammate and brother. During the race, Evan Bradley would secure his first win after a gearbox failure would see Daniel Metcalfe go on to an unfortunate DNF. After the race, Italian Car Manufacturer Vitalité would announce their entry into the sport in season 2, looking to provide competition to EvoSync.

Race 7: Cardiff
Winner: D. Metcalfe
Pole: D. Metcalfe
Fastest Lap: D. Metcalfe

Pre-race in Cardiff would see Prototype and Ederson Ross officially part-ways, with Charlie Parker being promoted to the second driver whilst Ederson would announce that he has joined future team Vitalité. Meanwhile, a rainy qualifying would see Daniel Metcalfe go 5/7 out of poles. Come race day and torrential rain would shake up the upper-end of the grid, with 4 DNF's after a severe crash in the rain saw the competitions first red flag when Meyer slid and collected Colt, Jackson and Bradley. This event would see 2 drivers get their first ever podium, as well as result in Prototype finally getting their first points.

Race 8: France
Winner: D. Metcalfe
Pole: D. Metcalfe
Fastest Lap: E. Bradley

The much anticipated French grand prix held in Paris was finally here, with uncertainty about how it would perform. Come practice, and the turnout was huge. The most people ever seen at a GRC race just in one practice session. This set the tone for the future of the sport, with immediate plans to branch out to more countries other than just England in the years to come. New location, same old however, as once again Metcalfe would take pole position, and although Evan Bradley would put on quite a show for the French fans, he would have to settle for 2nd.

Race 9: Liverpool
Winner: E. Bradley
Pole: E. Bradley
Fastest Lap: D. Metcalfe

It would be an important race for Metcalfe, as all he needed to do to secure the first ever GRC Championship was to finish 4th or higher and not let Meyer win. Evan Bradley would steal the show in qualifying however, taking a comfortable pole position, whilst Metcalfe would finish 2nd and Meyer 3rd. The team at EvoSync gave the pair the clear to be allowed to race each other and providing Meyer with a sliver of hope for a championship, a sliver of hope that would be crushed when his engine would give out in the formation lap, with Metcalfe finishing 2nd behind Bradley and providing an uneventful and boring finish to the innagural seasons championship, as well as a controversial one, with many pondering the question as to wether this was purposely done so Metcalfe could win. However, nothing could be done as the championship battle had already been won, and the trophy would be handed to the deserving man, a dominant season with 4/9 race wins and 6/9 pole positions up until before this race demonstrating just how amazing he has performed. Celebrations would last long into the night at Liverpool for Metcalfe, as he would truly mark himself down as the GRC's first ever legend.

Race 10: Silverstone
Winner: L. Meyer
Pole: L.  Meyer
Fastest Lap: A. Colt

As the dawn of an eventual inaugural season of the GRC neared, the drivers would race one final time at the famous Silverstone grand prix. It would be all that Meyer could ask for in qualifying, finishing on pole in a race where he was still fighting for 2nd in the championship. As the lights went out on race day, It would be championship winner from Metcalfe that took the lead on turn 1, although wanting to see his teammate come 2nd in the championship, he would make the decision to allow Meyer to overtake. This didnt effect Bradley to much however, as he settled for a 3rd place finish which was still enough to hold onto 2nd in the championship. Whilst Now, as the dust settled on the first season, the future was bright for the GRC. Harrington, drivers, teams, the media and fans all looked onto season 2 with hope, who knew what would happen next.
