PRE SEASON Lance Stroll's retirement allowed Felipe Drugovich to return to the team he had once been a test driver for all the way back in 2022. Porsche endurance racer Oliver Goethe joined Williams Porsche, a sign of the German marques heavier involvment in the team. Jak Crawford moved from Honda to Haas Ford, whilst Yuki Tsunoda returned to fill the void left by the American. Exciting rookie Senna Van Welstijn hoped to emulate his fellow Dutchman Max Verstappen for McLaren, and Oleksandr Bonadrev became the first ever Ukranian Formula One driver, racing for Toyota Gazoo Racing

OPENING RACES After 3 poor seasons Audi bounced back, with Alex Albon taking the win in Albert Park, and Oliver Bearman made it a double podium for the German team. Then, Formula One to the heat of Malaysia and it was the 2028 World Champion who kept his cool, taking a win after a dominant drive ahead of Bearman, taking the lead of the championship. And then it was Turkey, where Andrea Antonelli crashed into Charles Leclerc, and Colton Herta took his first win in over a year for Red Bull Ford. Azerbaijan was next up, and Albon took Audi's 2nd win of the year, confirming them as serious title challengers, while Van Walstijn scored his first points. But the story of the weekend was Guanyu Zhou, taking Porsche power's first podium and Williams' first in 9 years.

MID SEASON RACES The reigning champion took his first win at his home race in Monaco, his teammate taking an Andretti 1-2 and bringing the championship lead back to the Frenchman. Leclerc made it two in a row at Imola, but Albon's P2 snatched the championship lead back. It was then off to Canada, where the winner of the previous two editions got over ambitous after a Red Flag Restart and crashed with Oliver Bearman, as his main championship rival stormed to the win ahead of Ocon's teammate. It was Andretti's turn to win again in Spain, Charles Leclerc closing the gap in the championship to Albon, as Piastri finally gained a first podium in a tough season for the Red Bull Ford driver and Bonadrev scored his first points for Toyota Gazoo Racing. Colton Herta won in Britain, as 4th place for Albonn extended his championship lead in what was becoming a remarkable season for the Thai driver. Unfourtunately though, for Albon, he would retire in the next two race, Charles Leclerc closing the championship lead to a solitary point after a dominant win in Belgium. Carlos Sainz used the Aston Martin's formidable straight line speed to take the Silverstone based outift's first win of 2030, whilst a Leclerc DNF saw Albon still hold on to his championship lead, as Williams Porsche gained another podium with Guanyu Zhou. Mercedes were struggling, with only 1 podium so far and George Russell having a paticularly poor season, only managing 4 points finishes in 11 rounds despite only 2 DNFs. Toyota Gazoo Racing looked to be improving after their learning season in 2029, with Bonadrev bringing consistency and Magnussen getting the headline grabbing big points finishes. They looked to be a force to be reckoned wit hon the future.

CLOSING RACES Theo Pouchaire won for the second time in Singapore in his Ferrari, with another Leclerc DNF and P6 for Albon saw him retain his championship lead by 1 point, this time from Ocon. But Albon would get a crucial win at Suzuka, giving him a sizable lead in the championship with 2 races to go as Ocon retired and Leclerc finished in 6th, as Van Walstijn socred big points for McLaren and Felipe Drugovich became the first Brazilian since Felipe Massa to stand on the podium. Colton Herta would win again in Mexico, his 3rd win of the season and a P2 for Charles Leclerc closed Albon's lead in the championship. But any hope that the 2029 champion would have of retaining his crown went up in smoke from the lead in Brazil, as Herta won once more, giving him a second chance of the title. Kevin Magnussen scored Toyota Gazoo Racing's first top 5 finish as well. So going into Abu Dhabi, three drivers had a shot at the title, two having never won it before. Albon was the clear favourite, only having to finish in the top 7 to win, and he did just that, coming home to finish in 5th place, taking home his and Thailand's first Formula One title as Leclerc won his 5th race of the season to finish runner up. Andretti Cadillac won their 3rd constrictors title in a row, cementing their status as the team to beat. Williams Porsche finished 6th in the constructors championship, an impressive season for them and Toyota Gazoo Racing beat Alpine for 7th in the constructors championship, whilst Honda pulled out, their return much less productive than they hoped for.
