ERS - Season 5

Thanks to JT for the shoutout! Easily the most dedicated and talented person here and he deserves a lot of credit. 

New Continental championships are forming, and the title of champion of the ERS is much more reverred. 

Teams:

No new teams for the first time since the series' conception

No team name changes

Drivers:

The top five teams (Velcoi, Lyons, Entendre, Ignition, Bastelli), as well as HMC and Parma would not make any changes to their driver lineups. Laurent Duclos (33) and Milo Whittaker (30) would both seek breaks from the ERS, joining CARC and the AMC respectively. Duclos' replacement would come from CARC, with FlipSide signing 28 year old race winner Santiago Fernandez. Le Roux replaced Whittaker with former Lyons S1 driver, 37 year old Branden Poole, as a team leader to try and score some points.

The Le Roux situation:

After the season's fifth race in London, Florian Leroy caused a massive controversy by announcing he would be leaving the team with immediate effect. He said he had not been paid his wages after the teams management decided the project was a loss. Branden Poole would do the same one month later, after the Hungarian GP. The Le Roux team would then fold, much to the dismay of the ERS owners. Leroy would announce a pre-contract to replace Blazic at Parma, while Poole joined CARC, racing for his own team, which he would run from the end of the season after his retirement. 

The retirement of a champion:

Season 1 champion Alejandro Barbero announced he would retire at the end of the season after a home GP win. The 9x race winner and 28x Podium sitter would go out with a bang, winning the season ending infamous Monaco GP for a third time and having been on the podium for all 5 of his races there. He would give an emotional farewell speech after the race, having also wrapped up Voyage Veloci's 5th consecutive constructors title.
