F1 Random Universe (2019)

Lewis Hamilton finally became the first driver to win multiple Random Universe championships in the closest finish ever, gaining the title by virtue of more second place finishes over his rival Nico Hulkenberg, who both finished on 135 points. In the final race, an unprecedented eight drivers could have been crowned champion, with Nico Hulkenberg leading the way after his back to back victories shot him into from 13th two rounds prior to the championship lead. But in the race, the Hulk could only manage 9th place, meaning he lost out to 4th place Hamilton on the countback rule. Renault also lost the constructors championship by only two points from Toro Rosso. Renault had managed to garner four wins, with three in a row to close the season, but the late season surge was not enough as Toro Rosso (who also gained four wins) held on. All three F2 rookies won a race throughout the 2019 season, with Albon winning his first ever race, but it was Antonio Giovinazzi who placed the highest of the rookies, despite not winning a race, but his four podiums and consistent points scoring allowed him to beat the much less consistent others. 2017 champion Lance Stroll had an absolutely dismal season, finishing last and 27 points off 19th placed Kevin Magnussen.
