2029 season

PRE SEASON Toyota Gazoo Racing entered Formula One, with veteran Kevin Magnussen patnering Dennis Hauger. Red Bull Ford chose an all new look for 2029, with Colton Herta moving from Andretti Cadillac and Oscar Piastri moving from Ferrari. Charles Leclerc moved from Audi after 3 seasons with them, moving to reigning champions Andretti Cadillac alongside World Champion Esteban Ocon. After an impressive debut season, Andrea Antonelli moved to Ferrari, whilst Audi also got a new look with the returning Alex Albon and former Haas driver Oliver Bearman. Guanyu Zhou made the move to Williams Porsche, and rookie Finnish driver Tukka Taponen was his teammate. 2 new Brazilians were on the grid, Haas' Rafael Camara and McLaren's Gabriel Bortoleta. American rookie Jak Crawford made his debut with Honda.

OPENING RACES Colton Herta repeated his win from 2028 in Bahrain, but this time for Red Bull. Oscar Piastri made it a 1-2, a good start for the new lineup. Russell then won a dramatic race in Australia with wet and dry conditions, with Toyota Gazoo Racing scoring their first point with Kevin Magnussen. Then Leclerc won his first race for Andretti Cadillac in Monaco, and repeated the feat in Imola. Herta's consitent finishes meant the American lead the championship, but that would change as Leclerc made it three wins in a row in the United States, with Oscar Piastri in 2nd place for the third time in a row as well and Andrea Antonelli getting his first podium for Ferrari. Then it was the Word Champion's turn to win at the same place he scored his sole victory in 2028 at Canada, Esteban Ocon making it 4 wins in a row for Andretti Cadillac, and making it a 1-2 in the Championship for the American firm. Ferrari had failed to maintain their form of the previous years, whilst Aston Martin and Audi were struggling for podiums.

MID SEASON RACES Lando Norris won his first race of the season as Formula One returned to Deutschland, delight for the team in silver as they got a 1-2 finish at their home race. Red Bull then repeated Mercedes feat by getting a 1-2 at their home race in Austria, with Oscar Piastri finally bagging his first win for Red Bull in a dominant display. George Russell, the master of the Hungaroring, took another victory and taking a suprise championship lead, as, despite being a fast car, were no match for the Andretti Cadillacs and Red Bull Fords this season, but Oscar Piastri took his second race win for Red Bull at Silverstone, hoping to finally break his curse of winning more races than most but somehow never being able to win a championship. Oliver bearman took his first podium finish at his home race for Audi. The Netherlands saw a return to winning ways for Lando Norris in his Mercedes, as five clear championship contenders were emerging, Oscar Piastri, Esteban Ocon, Charles Leclerc, George Russell and Colton Herta. It was the French driver who took his 2nd victory of the season in Italy, and with his championship rivals faultering, Ocon looked poised to take back to back championship wins for Andretti Cadillac. Further behind, Ferrari looked to be getting back their mojo, with 2 strong 2nd place finishes for Theo Pouchaire.

CLOSING RACES George Russell won his third race of the year for Mercedes in Mexico, but the story of the race was Alpine, with Swiss Gregoire Saucy getting his first podium as the Alpine looked strong in the high altitude of Mexico City. Ferrari finally won a race in 2029, with Theo Pourchaire winning in Brazil as the championship leader retired, along with other title contenders Oscar Piastri and George Rusell. Ocon and Piastri would then DNF again in Azerbaijan as Leclerc won the race, drastically changing the forecast of the championship as Leclerc took the lead by a large margin, George Russell's podium put him 2nd in the championship. Piastri then won in Saudi Arabia, making it for the fourth time in a row a final race with 4 or more championship contenders. It was the Monagasque who claimed pole under the lights at Singapore, but that was no garuntee of victory in the most unpredictable race of the season. But all he had to do was finish on the podium, so, with Piastri hunting him down, he held his nerve, not only taking the victory but finally, after 12 seasons of trying, finally broke one of the longest waits for a championship. Andretti Cadillac once again wone the manufacturers title, beating out Red Bull Ford in a close battle. Ferrari won 1 race in a difficult year, as Aston Martin and Audi went winless, hopeful that they could regain their form as the new decade awaited.
