1997 My Way

This is nowhere near as exciting as the real season, and was made merely because I wanted to set the record straight. Several of my seasons are like this.

The start crash between Villeneuve, Herbert and Irvine was Villeneuve's fault, as it was Irvine's corner and Villeneuve should've respected that. My opinion is probably due to Ferrari bias, but I don't care. In addition, based on Frentzen's inability to pass Schumacher, Irvine wouldn't have been passed by Coulthard or Schumacher. Frentzen, meanwhile, wouldn't have emerged ahead of anybody, even with a fast pit stop. 

In Argentina, Panis wouldn't have had to deal with a bent steering wheel, and would've quickly taken the lead, putting Villeneuve in his dirty air in the beginning of the race, which would not only slow Villeneuve but exacerbate his tire problems. In Austria, Trulli's car would've been set up to his own liking.

In Europe, Villeneuve wouldn't have been allowed past Frentzen due to team orders. Villeneuve admitted he was pushing his tires far more than Schumacher in that portion of the stint, which means Villeneuve wouldn't have kept that pace against Schumacher, this all without taking into consideration Schumacher's possible water leak. Therefore, Schumacher would've won, and so wouldn't have been disqualified.
