1982 My Way

This isn't the most competitive season, but I knew Pironi should've won the title, and I felt like correcting history. The Renaults were incredibly unreliable. In exchange for reliability, I'm removing no less than 0.6 seconds per lap. I can't believe for the sake of equality in reliability I am hurting the competitiveness of a front-runner so much, but I must. I believe Ferrari should've had 2 cars at each race I could deduce where the other car would finish in. I am horrified to increase the results of a man such as Piquet, but simply put, I had to to remain realistic.

In Brazil, Patrese was never officially disqualified, and would've been past Villeneuve before Villeneuve had the opportunity to lose focus due to him, especially considering as just 1 car, he would've been less of a distraction. 

In San Marino, due to so few teams participating, I decided to remove the race. In Belgium, the race would be cancelled in honor of Villeneuve. In Monaco, Ferrari should've run a second car, which I think would've finished 4th. In Canada, Boesel, and by extension Paletti, would've avoided Pironi and survived, leaving Pironi at the back of the field but in his normal car. Normally with stalls, I only partially count it as driver mistake, leaving them in the race but at the back of the field. 

In Germany, though Pironi's crash was his own fault, he should've participated anyway, as I have enough information to believe he would've won. As for Villeneuve, based on these results, I believe he would've been world champion, but alas, he didn't live long enough. RIP.
