AUS:

Pole: M.Schumacher - 1:44.439

Fastest Lap - V. Bottas - 1:32.559

Mercedes looked to be the new dominant force in Formula One as Michael Schumacher took pole in the rain, and Nico Rosberg qualified 3rd. However, Daniel Ricciardo wowed the home crowd by almost taking pole off the 7-time champion, coming within a tenth of his time. However, as the race began, Nico shot off the line, and dominated procedeings, getting his lead to almost half a minute off Ricciardo come the race end, getting a fantastic maiden podium infront of his home crowd. Schumacher did not have the chance to challenge as his engine expired just two laps in. Hamilton also got Williams first podium since Spain 2012. However, there was little doubt who was going to be winning the lion's share of the races in 2014.

MAL:

Pole: S. Vettel - 1:57.671

Fastest Lap: M. Schumacher - 1:43.791

Sebastian Vettel showed why he had won 4 World Titles by snatching pole from Michael Shumcher in changable Qualifying conditions. However, the Red Bull was no match for the Mercedes and Schumacher stormed to his first win in 7 years, with Nico Rosberg making it a Mercedes one-two. Vettel did manage to get a podium finish though, even though Daniel Ricciardo had better race pace than him and was reeling him in the closing laps. Rosberg's lead stood at 13 points over Ricciardo in second and 18 over his teammate in third.

BAH:

Pole: N. Rosberg - 1:33.112

Fastest Lap: N. Rosberg - 1:36.974

Rosberg set a dominant pole time to make it three pole sitters from three, but it wasn't to be three race winners from three, as Mercedes dominated once again, taking their second consecetive one-two finish and Rosberg getting his first ever Grand Chelem. Ricciardo's second podium meant he remained Nico's closest challenger for the title, after another thrilling performance filled with audaitious overtakes, remeniscent of Juan-Pablo Montoya. Force India got one of their best ever results with fourth and fith as well.

CHN:

Pole: D. Ricciardo - 1:54.959

Fastest Lap: N. Rosberg - 1:41.112

Daniel Ricciardo got a thrilling first pole position, beating Sebastian Vettel by 0.001 seconds. But come the race day the pace of the Mercedes was too much, with Ricciardo slumping to 4th behind Alonso in the improving Ferrari. Rosberg had a poor qualifying, 4th place, behind his teammate in wet conditions once again. The Mercedes made mince meat of the Red Bull's, with Schumacher getting past Ricciardo on lap 4, whilst Rosberg swiftly followed him later that lap. Rosberg than nipped past Schumacher under braking for turn six two laps later, and dominated thereafter, scoring his third win of the season and Mercedes third consecutive one-two finish.

ESP:

Pole: N. Rosberg - 1:25.400

Fastest Lap: F. Alonso - 1:29.111

Mercedes locked out the front row for the second time in the year but Alonso wasn't far behind in 3rd. The Spaniard made a ballistic start in front of his home crowd, storming to the lead of the race by turn one. Fernando and Rosberg were in a league of their own, but it was the German who got ahead at the first pitstops. Rosberg slowly pulled away, but Fernando was looming in his mirrors in case the Mercedes driver blundered, which he did not, taking his 4th win of the year and extending his already healthy championship lead further. Schumacher got his 4th consecutive podium, whilst Ricciardo out-performed Vettel once again.

MNC:

Pole: M. Schumacher - 1:15.685

Fastest Lap: K. Raikkonen - 1:18.479

Rosberg thought he had pole in the bag and perhaps took it too easy on the last qualifying run, as Schumacher pulled out yet another blinder at Monaco, with a scintillating lap almost 3 tenths faster than his teammate. Schumacher took his second win of the season, easily fending off Rosberg on a track where it is nigh on impossible to overtake. Ricciardo got his third podium, once again outperforming his 4-time World Champion teammate, but the star of the race was undoubtedly Jules Bianchi, making some gutsy overtakes to claim Manor's first ever points finish after 4 years of waiting despite a 5 second time penalty.

CAN:

Pole: M. Schumacher - 1:14.866

Fastest Lap - L. Hamilton - 1:18.447

Schumacher beat Rosberg for the 5th time in 7th races in Qualifying, and his pace in the race suggested that he was going to win his thrid race of the season. However, brake failure on lap 46 meant that he had to retire for the second time in the season, giving Rosberg an open goal. But in yet another plot twist in this crazy race, Rosberg suffered a loss of power, meaning that he had to concede the lead to Lewis Hamilton in the Williams just 5 laps from the end, with Daniel Ricciardo quickly following suit. Alonso and Perez passed the German for 3rd and 4th respectively, but a collision between the two on the final lap gave the lost positions back to Nico. At the front, Ricciardo attempted a do or die attempt for the win at turn one, but locked his brakes running onto the grass, giving Hamilton his long awaited 22nd win and his maiden win for Williams. Schumacher's DNF meant that Ricciardo maved back into the runners up spot in the championship.

AUT:

Pole: V. Bottas - 1:08.826

Fastest Lap: L. Hamilton - 1:12.562

Bottas took a stunning maiden pole position on Saturday in a thrilling qualifying session, pipping Schumacher by 3 hundredths of a second, with Hamilton 6 hunderdths off pole in 3rd. Rosberg could only manage 4th, which setup a great battle between the Williams and Mercedes on Sunday. Bottas got a poor getaway off the line, and lost the lead to Schumacher but remained ahead of his teammate in 2nd. In the second lap, Rosberg initiated a dogfight with Hamilton, the two going wheel to wheel from turns 2-5. Rosberg got down the inside at Rauch and set off after Bottas, who he got on lap 6. Hamilton had quicker race pace than Bottas, and got past him shortly after the first round of stops, but the Mercedes sped off into the proverbial horizion. However, the race was not over for the Mercedes boys as Rosberg was reeling in Schumacher by about 4-5 tenths a lap. Schumacher managed to gain a small advantage in the second round of stops but on fresher tyres, Rosberg was chasing him again. But Schumacher used his formidable nerve to hold on to the lead, winning his third race of the season and proving he could beat Rosberg in a fair and square fight.

GBR:

Pole: N. Rosberg - 1:35.766

Fastest Lap: M. Schumacher - 1:37.444

Rosberg finally got the better of Schumacher in a wet qualifying session, taking his 3rd pole of the year and had a decent lead over his teammate. However, on lap 28 he suffered his first DNF of the season with a gearbox issue. So the lead was handed to Schumacher, and that's where he stayed, taking his second win in a row. Hamilton was fastest of the non Mercedes by quite a distance, making great progress through the field to get his third podium finish in a row, but the Williams was still no where near the pace of the Mercedes. Sebastian Vettel finally got the better of Ricciardo, the reigning world champion only getting his second podium finish of 2014.

DEU:

Pole: N. Rosberg - 1:16.591

Fastest Lap: K. Magnussen - 1:19.999

Brake failure in Qualifying meant Michael Schumacher had to start at the back, as Nico Rosberg cruised to a second pole position in a row. Lewis Hamilton barrell rolled through the first corner after a collision with compatriot Jenson Button, both retiring from the race. Rosberg dominated procedings, taking his fifth win of the season, as Schumacher managed to make a comeback to 4th, meaning Rosberg extended his lead over Michael Schumacher to 31 points in the duel for championship. Bottas also managed to claim his first podium with a second place finish.

HNG:

Pole: N. Rosberg - 1:23.161

Fastest Lap: D. Ricciardo - 1:26.663

Another issue for Michael Schumacher handed Rosberg his 5th pole of the season, with Daniel Ricciardo alongside him. However, Alonso in fifth made an excellent start, getting ahead of the two Williams' to take 3rd. Alonso then got ahead of Ricciardo using DRS on lap 4 to lead the chasing pack. However, in the changable conditions, Mercedes made a strategic blunder, handing the lead to Ferrari and Alonso. Rosberg dropped all the way down to sixth when things settled down, but passed Vergne and Raikkonen to finish fourth, which Michael could only recover to seventh. However, in the battle for the lead, Ricciardo was once again sensing his first victory was on the cards, and he pumped out rapid lap times to chase Alonso. However, the master of defense placed his car in all the right places, and Alonso took his first win in over a year.

BLG:

Pole: N. Rosberg - 2:05.801

Fastest Lap: M. Schumacher - 1:49.871

Rosberg got his 4th consecutive pole, but this time if he was going to win the race he had to beat Schumacher, as he was right alongside him in second. Rosberg managed to pull out of DRS range, and controlled the race till the only pitstop of the race was completed. However, on the second stint on the softs, Schumacher reeled Rosberg in, but poorly managed his tyres, allowing Rosberg to complete the last laps relatively comfortably, getting his sixth win of the season. Ricciardo consilidated his position of third with his sixth podium of the year.

ITA:

Pole: L. Hamilton - 1:24.391

Fastest Lap: N. Rosberg - 1:27.984

The long straights of Monza suited the Williams car nicely, and they were very competetive in Qualifying. The Mercedes were still fastest, and it Rosberg was on pole until he messed up his braking zone into the Rettefilo on his second run, meaning it was a straight fight between Hamilton and Schumacher. Schumacher set a 1:24.397, but Hamilton went 0.006 seconds better, getting his first pole position for Williams. The race was just as enthralling, as Schumacher got the better run into turn 1 but Hmailton fought back into the della Roggia chicane, retaking the lead. Schumacher then got Hamilton back at that same chicane on lap 4, and maintained the lead till the only pitstop of the race. Hamilton had manage to keep the gap within two seconds, and two great laps meant he got the undercut on Michael. But with DRS, Schumacher got him back just 5 laps later into the Ascari chicane, and pulled out his advantage to 10 seconds by the end of the race. Rosberg managed to finish 3rd, getting valuable points, and Ricciardo pulled out an incredible dummy move on his teammate and eventually finished a great 4th on a track unsuited to the Red Bull. The Tifosi were left very dissapointed as both Ferrari's retired from the race.

SNG:

Pole: N. Rosberg - 1:45.798

Fastest Lap: D. Ricciardo - 1:51.739

Rosberg clinched his 7th pole of the season from Ricciardo and Schumacher, but an electrical failure on the formation lap meant he failed to take part in the race. Schumacher got the better start on the clean side of the grid, and led the opening stint of the race, but Ricciardo was quicker, and undercut Michael to take the lead. From there on, Ricciardo dominated the race, taking fastest lap as well and finally won his first ever race. It was a great day for Red Bull as they got both cars on the podium for the first time this year. But Nico's retirement meant that Michael was now seriously in the hunt for the driver's title.

JPN:

Pole: M. Schumacher - 1:32.435

Fastest Lap: M. Schumacher - 1:51.595

Schumacher dominated qualifying to take his first pole in 8 races. However, heavy rain on raceday could pose a threat to shake up the order. However, Michael showed everyone why he is the rainmeister, taking a commanding victory leading every single lap, and getting the fastest lap to take his 6th Grand Chelem of his career to show everyone a message that he was in the thick of the title fight. Jenson Button also demonstrated his formidable talent in the rain, climbing 5 places to clinch his fourth top 5 finish of the year. Ricciardo's 4th place also kept his slim title chances alive.

RUS:

Pole: N. Rosberg - 1:38.713

Fastest Lap: M. Schumacher - 1:40.646

Rosberg took pole position from Schumacher and Bottas, who qualified an impressive 3rd, almost making it onto the from row. Nico got a great start and pulled away from Schumacher and Bottas, who were closely matched. However, on the 13th lap, Nico reported a sticking throttle pedal, and had to retire the car for the third time this year, handing Schumacher the lead. However, the race was not a foregone conclusion, as Bottas was keeping him honest, the gap never getting any larger than 8 seconds. However, the Finn was not able to overcome the 7 time World Champion, as he took his 7th victory of the season, bringing his career total to a scarcely belivable 98. However, perhaps more crucially, this win gave him the championship lead for the first time since October 2006. Meanwhile, Adrian Sutil gained Sauber's first points of 2014.

USA:

Pole: N. Rosberg - 1:36.012

Fastest Lap: D. Ricciardo - 1:41.117

Rosberg dominated Schumacher in qualifying, and then proceded to dominate the race, helping him claw back some of the points he lost to Schumacher in the past 4 races. Schumacher on the other hand, had a rather underwhelming performance compared to his teammate, but still managed to beat Hamilton for 2nd in another close battle between the two. Vettel made his way up to 7th after starting from the pitlane, and Pastor Maldonado finally scored Lotus' long awaited first points finish of the year with 9th, moving them ahead of Sauber and Manor in the constructors championship, whilst a fourth place finish from Ricciardo just about kept him in the title hunt.

BRA:

Pole: N. Rosberg - 1:09.961

Fastest Lap: M. Schumacher - 1:13.622

Rosberg made it 10 pole positions in 2014 after dominating Schumacher in qualifying once again. Schumacher had expressed that he had setup issues with the car all weekend, so he drove conservatively. This put him under threat from Hamilton, who was once again looking very strong in the Williams. Hamilton got ahead after the first stops, but made a mistake coming into the Descido Do Lago, handing back the place to Schumacher, and they maintained the order thereafter. The result meant if both cars failed to finish in Abu Dhabi, Schumacher would claim his 8th World Title with a gap of 2 points to Rosberg, as opposed to if he finished third then Rosberg would have won by 1 point. Ricciardo's failure to win the race and Mercedes' strong result meant he was mathematically out of the world championship. Also of note was Nico Hulkenberg's impressive drive to 4th place, which was his best result of the season.

CHAMPIONSHIP PERMUTATIONS:

Schumacher must finish ahead of Rosberg UNLESS Rosberg finishes outside the points.

Rosberg must finish ahead of Schumacher regardless of what Schumacher does.

UAE:

Pole: M. Schumacher - 1:40.478

Fastest Lap: D. Ricciardo - 1:44.496

Before the race, Will Stevens replaced Marcus Ericcson to make his Grand Prix debut. In the championship, it was basically a winner takes all scenario between Rosberg and Schumacher. An intense qualifying session culminated in Schumacher snatching pole off Rosberg by just 2 thousandths of a second. Meanwhile, the Red Bull's got thrown out of qualifying after front wing irregularities, and were forced to start from the pitlane. Rosberg made a poor start and dropped behind Hamilton, who started 3rd, but quickly got him back on the straight on the rundown to turn 8, but Schumacher had already got out of DRS range thanks to the squabbling between Rosberg and Hamilton. Rosberg kept Schumacher honest throught the first stint, but just after sunset Rosberg reported an issue with the car, which was then later discovered it was an ERS issue. The team rccomended him to retire the car, but they allowed him to carry on anyways. On lap 42, Rosberg slipped out of the points, but it was still possible to win the title if the issue was resolved and Schumacher had a terminal issue. Meanwhile at the front, Hamilton had sliced the gap down to 3 seconds after the second round of stops, and they dueled for victory, with Hamilton and Schumacher posting fastest times tit for tat. However, there was one lap too short for the Brit, as he managed to get the gap down to 1.2 seconds, but it was enough to snatch 3rd place from Ricciardo in the championship, who clawed his way back to 5th, and for Williams to get 2nd in the constructors championship, their best result in 11 years. Williams also got the most points scored by a constructor in a singular Grand Prix, with 66. However the biggest records were reserved for Schumacher, as he claimed a record breaking 99th win and 8th world title, placing him three titles ahead of Fangio, becoming the second oldest driver to win a title, and just a solitary win off a groundbreaking century of wins.
