In Russia, Hamilton, after taking pole, would've had preferential strategy and so would've been leading before team orders would be required. In Germany, Hamilton would've been starting in 6th, but would been in dirty air behind Bottas for around 15 laps I'd say, losing him about 6 seconds, while previously, he'd lost only about 4.5 seconds behind much slower cars because they didn't give up a fight, and of course starting further up would've given him about 4 seconds extra. Therefore, he'd only gain about 2.5 seconds from his original position, and based on my calculations, that wouldn't have been enough to beat Räkkönen, losing him the title. Even if he didn't lose any time behind Bottas, he would've still been held up by Bottas, Vettel, and naturally, Räkkönen enough that he probably wouldn't have won anyway.
